!! I've been playing drums for roughly 60 years.
Started when I was 5 or 6 years old.  I am an avid drummer as well as an informal collector of percussion instruments.   I have an almost embarrassing amount of equipment so over the years I'm thinning the flock a bit.
This is my 20th  year selling on Ebay as FE FI FO DRUM. with excellent positive feedback, (100%) and great customer comments.  You are in good experienced, honest, competent hands. DESCRIPTION OF ITEM AND LISTING TYPE:
Here's a beautifully crafted 12" diameter x 9" deep, Tama, "Rockstar" Series rack tom.  It is all original save the batter head which I've replaced with a clear Evans EC 2 head which is almost brand new.    The resonant head is the original clear Tama head that came with the drum, factory, and it is in exceptional condition.
The "Rockstar" line of Tama drums stands out in that it uses the Mach lugs, which run the side of the drum vertically, and dresses the drum up nicely.   The chrome on the lugs, and all hardware is in excellent condition with no rust nor pitting.   The wrap is thick and tight with no imperfections, bubbles or damage.
The shell of this drum is 9mm thick, consisting of 7 ply of wood, one ply of basswood on the interior and exterior, sandwiching 5 ply of Philippine Mahogany.  Back in the day where quality, both in terms of sound and longevity were primary factors in choice of manufacturing material, as opposed to cost, this combination of woods, especially the mahogany core ply's ruled, to the accolades of many a drum expert.
The wrap, which is in very good to excellent condition with barely a scratch on it, is a Grape color.   Honestly, the only such color factory wrap I've seen on a drum.   I used this drum for a while on an occasional gig as part of my jelly bean set, each drum having a different color.
The integrity of the drum has not been compromised by any drilling, either factory or otherwise to attach a mount.   This makes the drum perfect for mounting with a more modern suspended mount off the tension rods on the batter side.   The drum has remained in round.
Be it the choice of woods, the thickness of the shell, the integrity of the shell, the heads or the age of the woods, most likely some combination of the above this is a really great sounding drum, that holds  tuning very well.
