Description
Yee haw !!You are looking at a used vintage
12x14: Premier Royal Scot dual throw off black marching snare.
There is one crack in the black wrap above the upper throw off.
Dual throw offs, one for each head.
Yes
, two snare strainers, with one for wires under the top head.
It has some marching scratches + scuffs as with any parade drum.
A
nd is complete with it’s case, clip-on Ludwig leg rest and sling.
Color is solid gloss black pearl wrap
.
The size is 12x14. (14 inch head, 12 inches deep)
No Serial number,
Year is from the 1960s, I really don't know, and I was guessing the 1970s.
A helpful person let me know it's a Royal Scot snare drum from about 1967-1968.
I
t has the Premier badge.
Made in the United Kingdom.
The lower bearing edge has a bit of a sprung counter hoop as shown in one photo.
The rims have some scratches as expected on a vintage marching parade drum.
There are some scratches in the chrome.
Original tension rods and washers, I think, I'm not a Premier expert
Eight lugs.
Includes a marching drum strap sling.
Includes a 1970s Ludwig chrome clip-on leg rest with foam cushion added nicely.
Includes a used vintage fiber case with a name stenciled on in white.
The case's top and bottom may not have come together originally (different color)
but they fit and work nicely together.
The case still has a strap and a handle.
The cases lid has a broken leather hold down and the other is off and missing.
They do not affect the ability of the strap to work, so the lid does stay strapped down. .
The case is probably responsible for keeping the drum in as nice shape as it is.
So it should stay with the drum.
The drum came in quite clean.
We leave any further cleaning up to you.
It does have used heads, the original heads are gone.
Top: Remo brush coat white Diplomat head, still has life left.
Bottom: Yamaha clear snare head, still has life left.
This color does not fade, and should match drums you have in the same solid gloss black ebony.
T
hus,
the color still looks good.
As mentioned, like many used drums, t
here are scuffs and scratches on it.
The chrome is clean, but you can further detail it yourself.
We never recommend steel wool, and we never use it.
You shouldn't use it either, at least not on nice drums.
If you need a nice black marching parade snare, don’t miss out,
I've never had or even seen another like this.
If you have any more helpful information, I’d be happy to post it.
As shown.
